I got in late last night and whilst making myself a snack thought I'd catch up with the news. There was an "expert" being interviewed about the latest casualties in Iraq. As my tired eyes wandered around the screen I found myself looking at the contents of the bookcase in his den. From top left: Teach youself ......The bluffers guide to .......**** for beginners. As our friends at Forty-Two quipped, he might as well have had a copy of "A is for Arab, B is for Baghdad........"
Pandora is part of the fancifully titled Music Genome project - the idea is that you tell it a few artists or tracks that you like and it provides you with a stream of songs that it thinks you will like. Bad Pandora did play me Owen Wilson singing Don't Give up on me Baby, on the grounds that I would appreciate its acoustic sonority. Bad.
Other than that it's been a whole lot of fun.
I was a little concerned that it loads your preferences without you having to log in even when you have deleted all cookies. It does this apparently by taking advantage of the local storage feature of the flash storage and isn't spying on you or anything.
